Deputy Nursery Manager for Oldbury
Ambassadors Resourcing is looking to recruit a dedicated, inspiring deputy manager for a permanent position on behalf of a wonderful family run, 48 place day nursery in Oldbury. The role requires the successful candidate to undertake administrative and managerial tasks as well as being primarily room based, responsible for up to 10 of their own key children. The position will be full-time for 40 hours a week, between the hours of 7am-6pm. There could be an opportunity to work the 40 hours over 4 days. The salary will be in the region of £27,500-£30,500 depending on experience. Previous managerial experience is desirable.
Job Description
- The successful Deputy Manager will:
- Show a committed and inspired approach to ensuring all children aged 0-5 years receive excellent care, safety and well-planned play & learning experiences which meet the individual needs of all the children and support all aspects of the EYFS curriculum at all times, and support other team member to do the same
- Have a sound knowledge of the EYFS
- Confidently and enthusiastically take on the role of a key person for up to 10 children
- Efficiently undertake administrative and managerial tasks such as, managing staff training, staff supervisions, peer observations, updating period reports, producing newsletters, planning events and parent workshops
- Engage in excellent communication with the manager, team, parents/carers, other professionals
- Actively promote & support the safeguarding of all children, ensuring that the policies and procedures of the day nursery are observed and their responsibilities are understood
Requirements
Essential:
- Level 3 in Child Care and Education or the equivalent
- A minimum of GCSE Grade 4 or the equivalent in English
- The ability to speak fluent English, as this post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016)
- An enhanced DBS and Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and have a legal right to work in the country
- Two acceptable reference checks from previous employers, including from a childcare & education setting, or educational institutions from the last 2 years
- An in-person interview which will include questions about safeguarding and the candidate’s understanding of working with children

Administrator/Payroll Clerk – Education Recruitment
Ambassadors Resourcing is looking to recruit a permanent Administrator/Payroll Clerk to work in a busy Education Recruitment business. The successful candidate is required to have 2 years of payroll administration experience and a detailed, focused, efficient and professional approach. The role involves the management of all payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment for employees. Credit control management of our varied education client base is also required including accurate invoicing on a weekly basis and debt management within the company’s terms of payment. The candidate would also be expected to assist with recruitment and compliance administration.

The successful candidate will be
- Primary point of contact relating to all candidate payroll, client invoicing and client payments.
- Processing our candidate’s payroll and clients invoicing on a weekly and year end basis accurately via SAGE and our internal recruitment administrative system.
- Maintaining payroll records, including tax deductions, pensions and benefits, always adhering to HMRC deadlines and requirements.
- Managing Credit Control and pursuing payment within company terms and managing aged debt successfully.
- Supporting administratively our recruitment and compliance team within the company Safe Recruitment standards and expectations whilst always adhering to the compliance requirements within the education sector including safeguarding, referencing and pre-screening checks and regulations.

The successful candidate will be required to
- Be a valuable team player with 2 years previous experience in payroll administration preferably within a recruitment business.
- Possess a strong knowledge of payroll systems and relevant legislation.
- Be proficient in both SAGE Payroll and Sage Accounts and access and produce relevant management and reporting information from both SAGE packages.
- Have excellent attention to detail and numerical skills.
- Have strong organisational and time management skills, meeting deadlines and managing workloads whilst delivering a high standard of professionalism, with the highest level of detail and accuracy.
- Communicate professionally on a consistent basis to candidates, clients and external agents in person, over the telephone and via email/letter.
- Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
- Be confident/ outgoing.
- Handle payroll queries.
- Complete all payroll reconciliations and reporting.
- Support process improvements and payroll system enhancements.
- Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Have excellent administrative skills.
- Have an eagerness to learn about regulations, compliance and Safeguarding within Childcare and Education relating directly to the recruitment process for those working with children and young people.
